Background
Both The Mail Show and the UK Express Delivery Conference are the market leading events in their specific industry sectors since their inception in 2001 and 2004 respectively. As both industries have developed, it has become increasingly obvious that the markets are converging and that there is a significant overlap of interest. It is also quite common for a significant generator of mail to also be a significant generator of parcels and express products. As a result of comprehensive research and analysis undertaken during December 2007 and January 2008, a large percentage of mail/parcel generators (customers) questioned are in favour of a joint show offering focussed conference sessions which are subject specific. Many customers are happy to attend for 4/8 hours but a much smaller percentage were prepared to commit a full two days.
The New Show
The Mail Show, historically held in November and the UK Express Delivery conference historically held in July are to combine to create an event even bigger than its parts. This larger event, The Mail & Express Delivery Show will take place at the Novotel Hotel, Hammersmith on the 1st & 2nd July 2008.
Attending delegates will be from the UK's top 1,000 mailers and top 1,000 parcel generators with special attention given to conference topics to attract them and encourage them to attend. As with previous UK Express Delivery Conference and Mail Shows, special deals will also be put in place to attract Associations and industry bodies and their respective membership. There will be special dedicated areas within the exhibition where invitation only workshops will take place.
Expected Attendees
Historically, The Mail Show and UK Mail Awards have attracted over 300 delegates whilst the UK Express Delivery Conference attracts over 200 delegates.
The Mail and Express Delivery Show (2 streams and 2 workshops) will be dedicated to specific subject matter to both mail and express users, whilst also dealing with matters overlapping to both industries, as a results of which numbers of customers are expected to increase significantly.
Delegates would be able to pick and choose sessions from topics such as:

The exhibition area of over 50 supplier stands will be open to conference delegates as well as to pre-registered visitors, again a break from previous shows.
A specific marketing campaign has been put in place to identify, contact and attract the top 1,000 users from mail and express. media campaigns with some of the biggest publications will also ensure invitation only attendance to the exhibition area, whilst partnerships with key stakeholders across the markets will ensure attendance to the workshops.
