INTRODUCTION
Technology is now fundamental to the infrastructure
of our lives and particularly the way we communicate. This is significant
for the Postal Industry in its role as part of the national and global
communications infrastructure, as it impacts all aspects from the
customer right through to the operation and delivery of the services.
The postal landscape is continually changing to
respond to the threats and opportunities presented by technology,
however, the opportunity to understand and share best practice is seldom
available.
PosTech 2007 is the first global conference focussing on the
challenges and opportunities presented by technology over the coming
years. This is a unique opportunity to understand the key challenges for
the Postal Industry with some of the sectors thought leaders, key
suppliers, legislators and postal operators.
The conference will be a mix of plenary sessions
coupled with discrete workshops - a separate Leader's Forum will also take
place during the two days to understand how technology can become a
positive driver for the industry.
The Conference, which has Patronage from King Abdullah
bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and will be opened by Crown Prince Sultan, takes place
at the Hilton Hotel in Jeddah on 14-15 November 2007.
PosTech 2007 has two separate elements, a stream
dealing with global postal technology and a stream dealing with general
technology in the GCC countries. |
