Keynote
addresses – Challenges facing the national postal operators
Chairman: Peter Somers,
Managing Director and Member of the Executive Committee, Belgian Post International
In the opening session of the event, four
national posts share their experiences of how they are addressing the
challenges they face. SepoMex has radical plans to re-assert itself in the
Mexican market. The USPS as by far the largest post in the world should be
particularly well placed to face up to the digital challenge. In Colombia
the challenge is as fundamental as it gets--coming back from bankruptcy.
Finally, Trinidad and Tobago has been through many major changes in the last
decade, and an update is timely. |

to be done. |

Chairman: Dra. Serrana Bassini Casco, Secretary General,
UPAEP
These four case studies are
designed to inspire innovation throughout the region. We learn from Canada
about creating customer value. From Brazil we learn about a very successful
approach to opening up banking to the non-banked. Uruguay provides a case
study in how to embed technology throughout the organisation. Costa Rica
demonstrates you can be small and innovative. |
