event banner
Date: 6 May 2009 | Location: Hilton Munich Park Hotel, Munich, Germany

With technology crucial to the future of the mail and express industries the seminar was a perfect opportunity for a focussed group of CIF’s, CTO’s, IT Directors and Operations Managers to work together in keeping abreast of the latest technological developments.

Overview

With an update report on last year’s PosTech event in Egypt and presentations from major technology organisations on topics such as hybrid delivery, mobile solutions, mail handling and automation, this 3 hour seminar was the perfect way to stay ahead of the competition.

With an opportunity to meet before the seminar for lunch and afterwards at the renowned World Mail Awards, this was an ideal chance to learn from and discuss with your peers about the future of the industry.

The Technology Seminar is for those who influence the technical strategy and direction of their postal authority. Attended by Chief Executives, Chief Technology Officers, Chief Information Officers, Operations Directors and Senior Project Managers, the seminar comprised a series of presentations, delivered by global leading edge technology companies, in an interactive workshop format.

Presentations at the Technology seminar covered the following subject areas:

  • Opt-in and hybrid delivery concepts
  • Adding value through mobile solutions
  • Optimising performance in mail handling
  • Financial savings through automation

Information regarding next year’s event will be confirmed in due course and will be announced first here. To ensure that you are kept up to date please subscribe to our World Mail & Express Europe newsletter now.

Networking

At the end of the one-day seminar, the exhibition area was openned to provide a chance for more detailed discussion with postal network colleagues and to see some further illustration of the incentives featured during the day.

That evening, at the same venue, the 10th World Mail Awards Gala Dinner took place. Delegates to the World Retail Networks Seminar could also attend this event and the World Mail & Express Europe Conference, which commenced the following day.

World Mail & Express Europe is recognised as the foremost networking conference in the global calendar. During the event there was a number of social activities, including dinners, a Bavarian themed evening (hosted by DHL Global Mail) and a cocktail party, designed to help you renew acquaintances, talk with your peers and make new introductions.

In addition, Speed Networking (sponsored by Belgian Post International) created a structured and fun environment in which delegates could talk to people who they may not normally come into contact with and facilitates a quick decision on whether there is a mutual interest, without the need for polite or unnecessarily long conversations.

Exhibition

Alongside the seminars and conference the exhibition display area featured a variety of leading organisations, operators and industry suppliers, ready to share and discuss their latest innovations. All refreshments and meals were served in this area, enabling delegates and exhibitors to mingle and discuss business at will.
