More than Twice as Fast as Sea, Less than Half the Cost of Air

A UNIQUE OPPORTUNITY -

AN ENTIRELY NEW MODE OF TRANSPORT

In late 2010 our client, FastShip Inc of Philadelphia PA, USA, will begin Trans-Atlantic service between the ports of Philadelphia and Cherbourg. These will be operated by TG770 JetShips, using innovative vessel design, propulsion and loading technologies.

  • In full operation the JetShip will be capable of crossing the Atlantic in 91 hours.
  • Unique loading/unloading systems will make it possible to turn a vessel round in under 6 hours and clear the terminal of exports and imports in under 12 hours.
  • Use of Philadelphia and Cherbourg will avoid congestion at other US and European ports.
  • The ability to maintain speed, even in severe seas, will enable time-definite operations.

Taken together, these would mean door-to-door transit times of 6-7 days between the major industrial centres of Western Europe and the Eastern and Mid-Western States of the USA, similar to standard air freight times. Yet the operating costs of the JetShip are likely to make door-to-door rates less than half of air freight.

For the first time ever, there will be a mode that can fill the immense gaps between Air and Ocean services in terms of transit time, cost and reliability. We expect this unique new mode to be attractive to innovative companies seeking to revolutionise their customer proposition by filling that gap between sea and air – including freight forwarders, shippers, integrated transport network operators, shipping lines and airlines.

Our client’s future plans include Trans-Pacific operations with comparable cost, transit time and service advantages. Participants in the initial Trans-Atlantic offer will secure an option on Trans-Pacific services equal to their Trans-Atlantic commitment.

OFFERS ARE INVITED for the purchase of capacity on the initial Trans-Atlantic service and corresponding first option on Trans-Pacific. For full details of the INVITATION, please refer to
Invitation to Tender (ITT) document.

For technical information and details of the operating characteristics please refer to www.fastshipatlantic.com. To discuss the invitation with Paul Jackson or David Paterson of Triangle, please call Erica Brittan on +44 (0) 870 950 7900.
