The following is a list of some of the bespoke research undertaken by Triangle over the past few years.   Not all projects can be mentioned for reasons of confidentiality.

ANC

Customer satisfaction poll. A regular monitor of customer perceptions on key criteria including service quality, product knowledge and sales/marketing effectiveness.

Customer poll of UK-Ireland international express market

Customer poll involving 100 interviews to determine the service level needs of UK express customers shipping to the Republic of Ireland and vice-versa.

Customer satisfaction poll for cargo handling company

UK and Republic of Ireland customer satisfaction poll which involved 200 telephone interviews with customers of a UK-based cargo handling company. An annual customer poll, the objective of the research is to benchmark performance and identify areas for improvement of service.

Major European Parcel Carrier:

A study to investigate the changing patterns of import distribution, especially in relation to European parcel, prompted by the major growth of imports from China and other Asian sources. Interviews were held in the UK, France, Germany and the Netherlands with the following:

  • importers

  • drop shippers

  • retailers

  • integrators

  • parcel carriers

  • freight forwarders

The Economist Group

Involved the test marketing of an internationalised edition of a US daily newspaper and the test marketing of a US monthly trade magazine in new geographic markets to establish the level of demand. Research completed for the daily newspaper involved face-to-face interviews with senior logistics executives in the UK, Benelux and Germany. Research completed for the monthly trade magazine was conducted nine months later and involved field interviews with senior shipping and freight executives in the UK, Hong Kong and Singapore.

Review of the state of postal liberalisation in selected countries

Triangle researched and reported on the level of postal regulation in a number of countries worldwide.

Strategic market entry study of the UK in-night delivery market

Involved in-depth interviews with customers in the UK in-night express delivery market, in order to assess the demand for in-night services and the perception of current operators in this relatively young market.

Study of the European trailer rental market

The study involved 100 face-to-face interviews to include both customers and suppliers across key western European markets in order to assess the level of demand for trailer rental services, new services requirements and the competitive changes on a pan-European basis.

Unisys Global Shippers’ Survey 2006

Triangle was commissioned by Unisys to provide an understanding of the short (1 year) and long-term (3 year) requirements of major shippers/importers worldwide, with particular reference to air cargo.

Over 50 high level executive interviews were conducted with major intercontinental shippers for the Unisys Global Shippers’ Survey 2006. Inter alia, issues covered included: Factors determining the choice of transport mode; Use of freight forwarders for air and ocean transport; Perceived strengths and weaknesses of air and ocean transport; Value of real time information; Current and anticipated use of RFID. Impact of anti-terrorism legislation.
