Saudi Arabian Express Distribution Survey, 2006

Triangle Management Services has just published its 2006 Express Distribution Survey for Saudi Arabia. Following 300 recent face-to-face, in-depth interviews with shippers in the Kingdom, this comprehensive report of attitudes, expectations and opinions is now available.

Triangle’s regular national surveys into the views of express users have been developed over the years to investigate those factors that differentiate and benchmark carriers from the shipper’s perspective. In common with its predecessors, this year’s Saudi Arabian survey examines key distinguishing factors such as customer care, problem resolution, information exchange, pricing and the importance of a wide range of services.

The new report, which runs to over 100 pages, illustrates that inbound international express services are an increasingly significant part of the Saudi market. As with similar surveys in other countries, the Saudi Arabia express survey also shows the important effect of price on carrier choice, with a large majority of shippers stating that they would change carrier for a reduction in price. Coupled with shippers’ expectations of price reductions in the next twelve months, maybe the carrier stability of the recent past is about to change – this will certainly be a market to watch as it develops over the next few years.

Other sections of the report analyse the shippers’ usage, awareness and opinions of a number of specific carriers, rating them across a range of criteria such as the quality of their transport service, marketing and customer care effectiveness. The survey also looks at the selection criteria considered by shippers and any service improvements they would like to see. Results are presented in easy-to-read tables and charts, along with deeper analysis and summaries where appropriate.

The report is ideal for express parcel carriers, industry consultants and others with an interest in the Saudi Arabian transport market, either currently active or looking to enter the market in the Kingdom or in other countries of the Middle East. With international inbound service provision becoming increasingly prominent in the region, anyone interested in the concept of Import Express should particularly benefit from this report. It is expected that the 2006 Express Distribution Survey will be the first in an annual Saudi Arabian series looking at the parcels distribution sector in the Kingdom.

The 2006 Saudi Arabian Express Distribution Survey is available now.
