The third annual UK Express Delivery Conference (UKEDC) will be held at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on 3-4 July 2006. After a very successful event at the same location in 2005, when customers’ concerns on matters like price and pro-activity came to the fore, the theme for this year will be “Growth through more effective delivery”. Once again, conference organiser Triangle Management Services has lined up a high-profile list of sponsors for the 2006 event, as industry leaders Business Post, CitySprint, Home Delivery Network and Parcelforce give their support.

With network operators, suppliers and express delivery customers (including retailers, manufacturers and importers) meeting in one place, this event always presents the best opportunity of the year to pool ideas, catch up with recent developments and discuss issues within the industry. Once again, the Conference will feature the biggest names in pallet, parcel and courier delivery, giving their views on the topical issues of the day. In the adjoining exhibition hall, the industry’s leading suppliers will be displaying their services and networking with delegates.

The 2006 UKEDC programme has a firm focus on those shippers and merchants who make extensive use of the various UK delivery companies. Their views of the industry, their service requirements and their concerns for the future will all be debated, as well as assessing whether and how the service providers will satisfy these demands.

Already pencilled in for the two-day conference are two key note sessions on the importance of the B2C sector. Retailers and carriers debate the importance of effective delivery in support of the significant rise in internet sales in the last few years. Also on the agenda are;
· how technology can provide some of the distribution answers
· does the one-stop shop still have relevance?
· the role of Distribution Agreements
· an awareness of the current sustainable distribution issues
Back by popular request, on the last afternoon there will be the always-illuminating CEO Forum featuring the leaders of the major operators.
