This year’s Mail Show will be held on 31 October and 1
November at the Novotel London West Hotel & Convention Centre in
Hammersmith.
Under the theme of “New Competitive Realities”, The Mail Show 2006 will
put the spotlight on a UK mail market that it is now fully open to
competition. There will be sessions on what is happening to stimulate
market growth, on home shopping and on the international scene. Speakers
will address the needs of direct mailers, publishers and transactional
mailers, and the products and services now on offer to them in the new
environment.
There will also be lots of practical guidance to help mailers to make
informed choices between Royal Mail and its competitors. In the main
conference, keynote speakers from the highest echelons of the UK mailing
industry, including customers, watchdogs and regulators, will be
explaining what they really think about the current mail services on
offer, and the need for objective ranking and measurement.
In an exciting new development for this year’s Mail Show, there will also
be workshop sessions where customers can get ‘hands on’ insights into the
practical implications for them of such developments as downstream access
and consolidation. These workshops will also allow customers and other
delegates to quiz the operators on what really makes them believe they
have something different to offer.
The UK Mail Awards will be presented at the industry’s annual Gala Dinner
at the same venue on the eve of the event. Alongside the conference
throughout the two days, the display area will feature all the leading
organisations, suppliers and operators you would expect to find at such an
event, ready to share their latest innovations developed for this new
environment.
Now in its 7th consecutive year as the UK’s premier mail industry
event, The Mail Show will include a high-quality cast of top-level
speakers from various viewpoints putting forward their expert opinions.
Also on the agenda will be panel discussions, where representatives of
specific sectors such as customer bodies and industry CEO’s will be in the
hotseat, and a feedback session from The Mail Show’s Customer Forum (held
the day before Conference begins), highlighting the current issues and
concerns of a broad spectrum of the mail industry’s most important
members: its customers.
