Yet again, the UK Mail Awards have attracted a huge level of applications, and after much deliberation the judges have just announced the shortlisted entries for 2006.

Now in their third year and acknowledged as the domestic postal industry's most prestigious appreciation of excellence and achievement, UK Mail Awards entries were open to any UK-based postal operator, service provider or mailing agency. The Awards recognise and reward best practice across all sections of the industry, and the shortlists for the 2006 Awards reflect the diversity of the entries received.

The independent panel of judges will meet at the end of October, just before the ceremony itself, to select the winning application in each category.

The 2006 UK Mail Awards presentation will take place on Tuesday 31 October at the industry's annual Gala Dinner in the Champagne Suite of the Novotel London West in Hammersmith. BBC Business presenter Declan Curry will present this year's Awards at what is expected to be the biggest celebration yet of the best of the mail industry.

Last year's ceremony was sold out ten days in advance! With an increased number of awards up for grabs this year and the prospect of a truly exciting evening, seats at the Gala Dinner and Awards Presentation at the end of this month will be even harder to come by than usual.
