Allan Leighton opens the UK Mail Summit in November

With the impending January 1st 2003 date for the closure for applications of the new seven year licences to Postcomm, it is timely indeed that Triangle have moved the date of the annual mail summit to November.

London’s Olympia on 13th & 14th November will be the place to be to hear Allan Leighton give a keynote address at the 3rd UK Mail Summit entitled 'Competition - will it work'. Joining him will be: Bill Cockburn, formerly CEO of Royal Mail and now the Deputy Chairman of UK Mail, Peter Bakker Chairman & CEO, TPG Post Group NV, Jon Wilkinson Managing Director, Deutsche Post UK Mail Services together with Peter Carr of Postwatch and Roger Louth of regulators Postcomm, and many more leading industry figures.

The 2-day conference is an event designed to bring together all the interested parties to discuss and agree the way ahead for a liberalised UK mail market. It has become the recognised UK mail event and enjoys the support of the majority of mail users associations such as the MUA, DMA and the MCA. The theme 'Competition - will it work' will focus on customer needs and in particular whether customers will divide their mail between the new operators and Royal Mail. The conference will raise these and other significant questions and aim to give some of the answers.
