Record entries for World Mail Awards

This year’s World Mail Awards, the 4th in the series organised by Triangle Management Services, has attracted a record level of applicants across the 9 categories. More than 100 entries have been received from different organisations around the world, which will provide the judging panel with even more of a challenge to shortlist the finalists.

The date for entries closed on 1 March, and now it’s over to the judges to shortlist each category before the beginning of April.

Each award is judged by a global panel of experts whose deliberations are independent of the organisers and sponsors. It is the responsibility of each award panel, under the chairmanship of a distinguished industry leader, to ensure that all applications or nominations meet the criteria of the award in question.

The shortlist will be published early in April in the lead-up to the big night itself, the Awards presentation evening, on 13 May at the Sheraton Roma, Rome.

Highest industry support

The sponsor line-up demonstrates the importance placed in recognising the best of the best within the Mail industry. This year’s categories and sponsors are:

• INNOVATION (Sponsored by Cap Gemini Ernst & Young)

• ENTERPRISE (Sponsored by Spring)

• CUSTOMER SERVICE (Sponsored by Innovapost)

• MARKETING CAMPAIGN OF THE YEAR (Sponsored by Triangle Management Services and supported by the Chartered Institute of Marketing)

• SECURITY (Sponsored by DHL Worldwide Express)

• TECHNOLOGY (Sponsored by Streamserve)

• INTERNET COMMERCE (Sponsored by Accenture)

• INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP (sponsored by Pitney Bowes)

• AIRMAIL CARRIER OF THE YEAR (Sponsored by Deutsche Post Global Mail)

The Awards take place on the evening before the World Mail & Express Europe conference and exhibition, at the same venue, providing added focus to the event. The eyes of the European postal and mail industry will be fixed on Rome for the 13, 14 & 15 May. It is expected that around 3-400 delegates will be attending the conference and exhibition and around 200 participants at the Awards dinner.

Celebrity recognition

The global awards evening is designed to highlight, encourage and celebrate best practice within the mail industry. In recognition of the very best organisations and people around the world, Triangle have engaged a top European presenter, Italian TV celebrity Mrs Milly Carlucci, to present the awards at a black tie gala dinner held in the Sheraton Roma hotel.

Limited places at the dinner

Because places are limited, delegates or industry members who would like to attend the Awards Presentation dinner are advised to book early since it is likely to be fully subscribed. Seats or tables can be booked at www.mailawards.com or by faxing +44 (0) 8709 507910.
