World Mail Awards 2004 - open for application

This is the chance for all postal related organisations to receive global recognition for their achievements during 2003. Applications open this week for this years’ World Mail Awards, which will be presented on 25th May 2004, at the Estrel Hotel in Berlin. Full details of categories and criteria are on the website at www.mailawards.com.

First presented in 2000, the awards attract applications from around the world. High praise comes from Thomas Leavey, Director General of UPU, who believes that “the World Mail Awards scheme is a first class incentive to encourage excellence and best practice among the world’s postal organisations.”

The presentation ceremony will be at a gala dinner preceding the annual Mail & Express Europe Conference & Exhibition. Following last year’s ceremony in Rome, Triangle is responding to a demand to increase the number of categories offered in order to include even more operators, especially smaller and newer organisations. A new Transformation Award will honour a postal organisation that has undergone considerable change with a focus on meeting its mission and bottom line results.

Confirmed sponsors for this years’ awards are: Accenture; Cap Gemini Ernst & Young; Deutsche Post World Net; Innovapost; Kinek; Pitney Bowes; Royal Mail and Spring.

The judging panel is selected from prestigious industry experts from around the world and across many sectors, whose deliberations are completely independent of the organisers and sponsors.

Applications or nominations for each of the awards can be made on-line using the specially designed interactive forms – see www.mailawards.com. Applications must be made before 1 March 2004. With the exception of the Industry Leadership Award, application, or nomination, for an award is open to any postal operator or service provider worldwide, whether public or private, small or large.

Organisations interested in sponsoring an award should contact nigel.ashton@triangle.eu.com
