Applications open for the 6th World Mail Awards

The nine categories in the 6th World Mail Awards programme open up this week for application. This is the chance for any postal related organisation worldwide to receive recognition for their achievements during 2004 and to be commended in front of over 300 leading industry figureheads. For full details of categories and how to apply, please visit www.mailawards.com.

The awards, first presented in 2000, typically attract over 100 applicants from around the globe. High praise comes from Thomas Leavey, former Director General of UPU, who believes that “the World Mail Awards scheme is a first class incentive to encourage excellence and best practice among the world’s postal organisations.”

Preceding the annual World Mail & Express Europe conference and exhibition, the awards presentation ceremony will take place on 11 May at a gala dinner at the Sheraton Hotel and Towers in Brussels. Confirmed sponsors for this year’s awards are: Accenture, Capgemini, Innovapost, Intermec, Pitney Bowes, Royal Mail and Spring.

The judging panel will be compiled of prestigious industry experts from around the world and across many sectors, whose deliberations are completely independent of the organisers and sponsors.

With the exception of the Industry Leadership Award, application, or nomination, for an award is open to any postal operator, service provider or industry supplier worldwide, whether public or private, small or large. Applications or nominations for each of the awards can be made on-line using the specially designed interactive forms – please visit www.mailawards.com. Applications or nominations must be made before 1 March 2005.

Organisations interested in sponsoring an award should contact Nigel Ashton on +44 (0)870 950 7900 at NigelA@triangle.eu.com.
