Corporate ethics and new sponsors strengthen World Mail Awards

Three new sponsors have agreed to join the list of supporters for the 7th annual World Mail Awards, to be held in Paris on 10 May 2006, while two new awards indicate the mailing industry’s commitment to its workforce and responsibility to society as a whole.

The addition of Australia Post, DHL Global Mail and Emirates Post brings the number of prestigious worldwide organisations to nine for this annual recognition of innovation and excellence in the global mail industry.

DHL is sponsoring the Corporate Social Responsibility award (which will honour operators implementing a structured approach to social responsibilities within their business plan), while Australia Post has put its weight behind the People Management category to reward an organisation’s positive impact resulting from investment in its staff.

Emirates Post is reinforcing its commitment to encouraging new ideas and initiatives by supporting the Innovation award, given each year to the developers of the best new product or service delivering value to mail users. Sponsors continuing their support from the 2005 World Mail Awards are Geopost, Innovapost, Intermec, Pitney Bowes, Royal Mail and Spring.

Neil Jackson, Chief Executive of Awards organisers Triangle Management Services, said “the arrival of Australia Post, DHL Global Mail and Emirates Post is extremely encouraging news. Not only do the new categories reflect the mailing industry’s increasing recognition of its social responsibilities in the 21st century but, just as importantly, the additional new sponsors demonstrate their commitment to excellence within our industry. The World Mail Awards continue to grow from strength to strength.”

The 2006 World Mail Awards will be held next year at the Sofitel Forum Rive Gauche hotel in Paris on Wednesday 10 May, on the eve of the World Mail & Express European conference at the same venue. The industry’s top performers will be rewarded for achievement and best practice across a range of categories at a Gala Dinner attended by over 300 of the leading figures in the global mail industry.

Applications for the 2006 World Mail Awards will open on 2 January, and more details on the World Mail Awards can be found at www.mailawards.com.
