UK Mail Awards 2005 - Winners Announced

The winners of this year’s UK Mail Awards were announced on Tuesday evening at a glittering ceremony in the Palace Suite at the Royal Gardens Hotel in London.

A record level of entries was received to the 2005 awards, which recognise and reward excellence and achievement in the UK mail industry. The panels of judges produced their shortlists a few weeks ago, and they met on Monday to make their final decisions on this year’s award winners.

The Gala Dinner evening was hosted by Frances Edmonds, herself an award-winning writer, broadcaster and entrepreneur. In front of a sell-out audience of senior mail industry executives, the awards were presented by representatives of the sponsoring companies.

This year’s UK Mail Awards winners are:

  • Customer Service award, sponsored by CMS Network:
      Winner: TNT and Royal Bank of Scotland Group for their Hub & Spoke system
     

  • Database Management award, sponsored by Royal Mail:
      Winner: Telewest Broadband for its Door to Door Direction product
     

  • Domestic Marketing Campaign, sponsored by DHL Global Mail:
      Winner: WDMP for its post-purchase Welcome Pack for Carphone Warehouse
     

  • Innovation award, sponsored by TNT Mail:
      Winner: Royal Bank of Scotland for its end-to-end downstream access solution
     

  • International Marketing Campaign, sponsored by AMP Citipost:
     Winner: The Union Advertising Agency for its campaign to raise awareness of Scottish &
                 Newcastle
     

  • Mail Centre of the Year, sponsored by UK Mail:
      Winner: Shrewsbury Mail Centre
     

  • Technology award, sponsored by Mail & Express News:
      Winner: British Forces Post Office for its creation and management of "e-bluey"
