Now in their 8th year, the World Mail Awards have rapidly grown in both prestige and breadth of coverage, with twelve awards to be presented in London on 21 May.

New sponsors Magyar Posta, Qatar Post, Saudi Post and Western Union have joined the growing list of major players in global postal industry already supporting these premier international awards.

Magyar Posta has given its backing to the Quality Award which will be presented to the organisation best able to present evidence of substantial mail quality improvement and integrity.

Qatar Post has sponsored the new World Mail Award for Growth and in so doing has shown its commitment to, and interest in, helping to develop the mail market. This new honour will go to the supplier or operator which has done most to introduce products or services that have encouraged revenue growth. The judges will look particularly favourably on initiatives that have not just led to increased market share but have grown the entire mail and/or parcels market.

Saudi Post has taken over sponsorship of the coveted E-Commerce World Mail Award, recognising the opportunities presented by the worldwide web as a communications and business medium to stakeholders in the mail industry.

Western Union has pledged its support to the important Customer Service Award, open to mail operators and postal retail networks delivering exceptional service, query handling and/or problem solving to their clients.

The 2007 ceremony will also see the presentation of a new Retail Project Award recognising the importance and challenges currently being faced globally by post office networks. This honour will be given to the organisation that has, in the view of the judges, best implemented a significant retail transformation programme.

Triangle Chief Executive Neil Jackson expressed his delight with recent developments: ”The continued growth and ongoing success of these awards really is very satisfying. The quality, reputation and gravitas of these four new partners not only boosts the World Mail Awards scheme itself, but also reflects the status they have reached within the worldwide postal community since their inception in 2000. We are very pleased to welcome Western Union, Saudi Post, Qatar Post and Magyar Posta to the list of companies who have shown their commitment to excellence in our industry.”

The 2007 World Mail Awards will be presented at the Gala Dinner in the Champagne Suite of the Novotel Hotel & Conference Centre in Hammersmith on 21 May. Entries and nominations are invited from any postal-related organisation worldwide, large or small, including public or private postal operators, industry suppliers or organisations servicing the mail market.

Applications are now closed.

The award winners will be selected by a distinguished international panel of independent judges, and will benefit from the significant prestige and PR opportunities arising from their recognition as practitioners of excellence and best practice in the worldwide postal industry.
