Triangle News

The World Mail & Express conference, organised by Triangle and host sponsored by Royal Mail, promises to be an invigorating and illuminating three days; including a high level keynote programme, a retail networks seminar, a postal technology seminar, exhibition display area, networking dinner and the annual World Mail Awards gala dinner presentations.

World Postal Retail Networks seminara first on a global scale
Global Post Office Networks are facing challenging times ahead. With high fixed costs, overall sales growth slowing and customers changing their buying habits, many Post Office networks are being forced to reinvent themselves in order to survive.

The Retail Seminar will bring together Post Offices from all over the world to share information, see the latest innovation and transformation projects being successfully implemented by Post Offices in the case studies featured. An impressive list of international speakers will provide valuable insights and knowledge for senior executives attending.

Postal Technology seminar – without it there is no future!
Without technological advancements, the mail & express industry will perish. As markets open up, technology is at the forefront in terms of product offering as well as operational efficiency. Triangle has designed this seminar specifically with CTOs, CIOs, Operational Directors and Senior Project Managers in mind, to be able to realise its potential.

The World Mail & Express Technology Seminar will include a unique visit to the technically advanced Royal Mail International Sorting Centre in Langley, followed by a networking lunch and demonstrations from leading edge technology suppliers who will also explain how postal organisations can save time and money, increase productivity and ensure competitiveness in tomorrow’s world.

The World Mail & Express conference – today’s issues…tomorrow’s challenges
Royal Mail and New Zealand Post are already fully open to competition; Deutsche Post and Magyar Posta are in advanced stages of preparation. In the conference’s opening session delegates will hear from four very different posts how the reality of having to compete for market share in key sectors is leading to a change in ‘the way we do things around here’.

Neil Jackson, Chief Executive of Triangle, stated, “Over the last few years we’ve witnessed the recovery and turn-round of Royal Mail as it has modernised itself and faces up to it’s first real competition. In 2 years time the EU proposes unrestricted competition. Multiply this scenario on a global basis, and we have an international industry that is experiencing massive change. Our conference will provide the platform for postal operators to publicly air their agendas, their concerns and listen to solutions from those who have the experience. It promises to be a landmark event.”

Other central topics that will be covered are: retaining the Universal Service Obligation, exploiting new technology, cross-border e-commerce, the boom in home deliveries and environmental impacts. Over the course of the conference more than 40 senior executives will be having their say on the platform including Adam Crozier from Royal Mail Group, Klaus Knappik from DHL Global Mail, John Allen from New Zealand Post, Dr Pal Szabo from Hungary Post and Luis Jiminez from Pitney Bowes.

World Mail Awards – the 8th set of global accolades
In this important period of the global mail industry, recognition of success has increased importance. The international mail industry’s premier honours will be awarded at a black-tie Gala Dinner on 21 May. The presentation ceremony will attract an audience of more than 300 of the most senior people in our industry on the first evening of the World Mail & Express Europe conference.
