This year’s conference will be the first to take place since the UK postal market was fully liberalised in January 2006, and the impact of the new open market on operators and customers alike is sure to be the major talking point.

The Mail Show 2006 takes place at a new venue this year, the Novotel London West in Hammersmith, from 31 October to 1 November and is sponsored by DHL Global Mail, Royal Mail, TNT Post and Oce. Over 400 mailing customers, suppliers and operators are expected to attend the event, the key features of which will be:

  • More than 30 senior industry figures on the platform
  • ”Smarter Mail Buying” workshop for buyers of mailing services at all levels
  • Senior delegates from all mailing sectors, including financial, publishing and home shopping
  • Q&A session opportunities with the biggest names in the industry in the hotseat
  • Exhibition area, featuring displays from the industry’s main suppliers
  • UK Mail Awards Gala Dinner (included in two-day conference pass)
  • BBC Business presenter Declan Curry chairing on Day One

Ever since The Mail Show series first started seven years ago, it has been the most important meeting-place for the industry’s directors and senior executives from postal operators, suppliers, mailing houses and customers. Each year, the biggest issues are discussed and debated both inside and outside the conference hall. Important business contacts are made and relationships developed which enable all parts of the industry to build their networks and tackle the challenges ahead.

The Mail Show 2006 will focus strongly on the New Competitive Realities of the mail market in this country. Keynote speakers will include customers, watchdogs and regulators explaining what they really think about the current mail services on offer, with conference sessions asking:

  • Has the liberalised market benefited the customer?
  • What is happening to stimulate market growth?
  • What do customers think of the new competitive realities?
  • Is liberalisation stimulating innovation?
  • How does this affect the international scene?
  • What’s the role of mail in the customer value chain?

Customers, suppliers and operators interested in attending The Mail Show can see the latest programme and book their delegate places at online.
