The event creates a unique forum that brings together operators, industry suppliers and high volume generators of post and parcels. MEDS tackles the key issues in the market, with a number of different sessions and workshops featuring a high profile range of industry speakers. There is also an accompanying showcase exhibition where attendees can see the latest the industry has to offer.
The working title for the 2010 event is ‘A New Dawn or the Morning After? as MEDS explores the implications of the post-recessionary environment and how the UK’s mail and express industries should be managing and developing their businesses during this period.
Geoff Lambert, Associate Director at Triangle and responsible for putting together the MEDS programme, explained, “We’re coming out of recession which is obviously a huge relief. However things are not likely to go back to how they were before. Structural and behavioural changes have happened over the last couple of years that won’t be quickly reversed, and the future will include some challenging new scenarios, both positive and negative. Our hand-picked line up of speakers will explore these issues and help delegates leave the show better equipped to manage their businesses”.
The intensive one-day show, which features sixteen themed conference sessions as well as a showcase exhibition is particularly popular with heavy post and parcel users. “Very thought provoking and I am now actively putting into place plans to make our supply chain more effective for our customers especially for the peak this year” commented Mike Harrison , GM Head of Operations at ASDA.com on MEDS 2009.
