PosTech 2008, the unique conference focussing on global postal technology, was opened today in the Maritim Royal Peninsula Hotel, Sharm El-Sheikh. Over 400 delegates from around the world were welcomed to the ‘City of Peace’ by Eng. Alaa Fahmy, Chairman of host sponsor Egypt Post. Fahmy opened the event under the auspices of His Excellency Dr Tarek Kamel, Minister of Information and Communication Technology of the Government of Egypt.

After a record number of applications received from all over the world across 12 categories, it was yet again a difficult assignment for judges to come to a decision on a final shortlist for the 2008 World Mail Awards. The short list has resulted in a total of 34 finalists from 18 countries reflecting an inspiring range of product and service offerings.
