Each panel of judges had a large number of high-quality submissions to sift through before the 3 or 4 shortlisted in each category could be settled on. These deliberations have resulted in a total of nn finalists for the Awards, reflecting both the geographical diversity of the applicants and the variety of products and services submitted by operators and suppliers to the mail industry.

The remaining award, Industry Leadership (sponsored by Pitney Bowes), is judged using different criteria so no shortlist will be released. The winner will be announced at the ceremony along with the other awards.

The judges will meet on the afternoon of 10 May, a few hours before the ceremony, to finalise their decisions and choose a winner for each award. The Gala Dinner will take place in the Rive Gauche St Jacques hotel later that evening, on the eve of the World Mail & Express Europe Conference. Multi-lingual journalist, compere and television presenter Alex Taylor will present the awards, along with a senior executive from each of the sponsoring companies.

Notes for Editors:

  • The first annual World Mail Awards (WMA) were presented in Paris in May 2000
  • World Mail & Express (WMX) events have been running since 1988, and are also organised by Triangle Management Services, based in the UK;
  • 2006 will also see Mail and Express Summits in the UK and South America, as well as the London-based Mail Show and UK Mail Awards in October and November;
